This edition of the PSCE Conference was marked by a high expectation for the official presentation of the EUCCS Preparation winning contractors Airbus, Frequentis, Leonardi and Teltronic. The interest for the event was felt from the first day of the Conference started on 4th December with presentations under the thematic of the lessons learnt from the management of large-scale events followed by a focus on Pan-European Critical communication and Information Exchange. Standalone presentations marked the second half of the day with intervention from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), FIDAL Project and the Belgian National Crisis Centre.
Day II opened with a workshop exploring Beyond 5G Technologies for PPDR currently being tested in the frame of the SNS Project FIDAL through core Use Cases and Open Call projects. The first half of the day was concluded with a presentation from EUCCS Preparation US counterpart, FirstNet Authority presenting an update on the US Perspective before opening the event to the most-awaited topic of the PSCE Conference: Preparing the European Critical Communication System.
EUCCS Preparation, the most awaited topic of the event, covered the current political landscape under which the programme is operating (presented by Alice Mezzetto, DG HOME), the expected activities for the year 2025-2026 introduced by the programme coordinator David Lund and the presentation of the four winning contractors, now officially testbed implementors. The topic was closed with an intervention from the Bavarian Red Cross presenting on the operational aspect of the EUCCS Preparation.
A very insightful event, with 100 participants across the two days of the event contributing to inspiring and insightful contributions.
With the expectation that the interest will be maintained as high as this event, we are looking forward to our next Conference in June 2025 in Sweden.
