E2mC Workshop - 11 December
Are you interested to know more about the use of social media and crowdsourced data to improve disaster response? On 11 December 2018 in Bled, Slovenia, The E2mC consortium is organising a one-day workshop which will gather a wide variety of stakeholders including actors of the crisis management community at large, representatives from the EU space ecosystem as well as research organisations and industrials.
The event will show the progress and promising results of the E2mC project, namely featuring a technical presentation and demonstration of Copernicus WITNESS, the new component developed by the consortium. By leveraging user-generated data, Copernicus WITNESS has the potential to significantly improve the timeliness and accuracy of geospatial information products provided to civil protection authorities, ultimately resulting in an enhanced response to disasters. The workshop will also feature the presentation of other related projects and initiatives such as I-REACT, SMURBs and VOST.

ALPDIRIS Workshop - 13 December (afternoon)
The ALPDIRIS (Alpine Disaster Relief for Italy and Slovenia) is a DG-ECHO funded project from the prevention and preparedness call 2016.
The main goal of the project is to improve the cooperation between Slovenian Civil Protection and the Civil Protection of the Friuli, Ventia, Gulia region by
- Replacing the fax based alerting system with a complete digital solution
- Improve the exchange of information between teams in the field and the head quarters – even between countries
- Improve the situational awareness and the search and rescue capabilities with new mobile tools
- Integrate with existing tools as much as possible
- Implement a first step of a common information space that can be enhanced with additional countries in a later step – an extension to Austria is already under evaluation
- Test the new services in several exercises and start the operational use
The project has successfully implemented the solutions and proved the usefulness in several exercises. In the workshop will be demonstrated how the new solutions improve the capabilities of the Italian and Slovenian rescue services through practical exercises.

5G for Safety Workshop - 14 December
Are you interested to know more about future 5G enabled public safety services and applications? Join us in an exciting discussion and exchange of practices between R&D, telcos and practitioners. The event will demonstrate the results of the 5G Safety project and discuss the opportunities and traps of 5G in the delivery of the next generation services and applications for 112, operational communications and disaster response and other public safety needs. A number of interesting topics will be discussed, including 5G PPDR practices from the telco perspective, safety, resilience and interoperability of hybrid public 5G networks, novel dispatcher services, usability of 5G 112 apps for citizens, the PEMEA concept, and more.

PSCE Conference - 12&13 December
The PSCE Conference in Bled is organized with the support of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief (ACPDR).
The key themes of the conference are:

- Wildfires: How to be better prepared? Lessons learnt from events in Greece
Projects and initiatives in Public Safety Communications will have the opportunity to showcase their product and results in a poster area which will last throughout the conference.
