On 19th July, the Council of the European Union agreed on the ‘Cyber Resilience Act’ which regulates security requirements for digital products.
The Act reflects the commitment of the EU to ensure that digital markets are safe and secure. The draft document introduces mandatory requirements for all hardware and softwares that are connected, directly or indirectly, to other digital devices or networks.
The aim of the proposal is to ensure a better regulation of all products with a digital component across the supply chain from design, to development, to production. This will also ensure that consumers will be more aware and better informed when accessing and purchasing these products.
