BroadNET partner, ASTRID, was granted its fourth management contract last month via approval of a draft Royal Decree from the Council of Ministers.
ASTRID, a public limited company established in 1998, is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of communication systems for emergency and security services.
The draft Royal Decree sets the contractual term between ASTRID and the Belgian State for the period 2023-2027. The new contract presents some changes which include:
- the extension of services to include 5G networks
- the gradual dismantling of the current TETRA and paging networks
- the official establishment of the Strategic User Consultation Committee
